Bitget survey shows that some users prefer KOL videos over white papers to make trading choices
The world's leading cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company Bitget have launched an event to celebrate the 16th anniversary of the release of the Bitcoin white paper, with the theme of "Who else is reading the white paper?" aimed at sparking discussions in the cryptocurrency community about the modern role of white papers in memory blockchain projects and investment decisions. This event revolves around the foundational documents established by Satoshi Nakamoto, providing an opportunity to re-examine the white paper and explore whether its impact on guiding investment strategies and project evaluations remains profound.
Bitget survey data reveals the current views of the crypto community on the white paper. Among the 5923 participants surveyed, 92.28% stated that they would carefully read the project's white paper before trading tokens, indicating that technical documents are still crucial for most users. In addition, 99.43% of respondents still believe that a white paper is necessary, emphasizing its continued importance in establishing project credibility and outlining fundamental principles.
However, the survey also showed that opinion leaders (KOLs) played a leading role in influencing trading decisions. Among participants who do not always read white papers, 86.51% rely on KOL recommendations, while only a few refer to research institutions or personal networks. This highlights a growing trend where views dominated by internet celebrities are gradually competing with evaluations based on white papers, reflecting a broader shift in the way information is absorbed and trusted in the field of encryption.
For many years, white papers have been regarded as key documents for understanding the technology and strategy of memory blockchain projects. However, with the rapid development of the encryption field, more and more people are starting to discuss whether these files are still important tools for investors, or whether other alternative evaluation methods have gradually taken their place.
Bitget's research includes surveys and consultations with industry insiders, pointing out diverse perspectives. Some participants still believe that the white paper is crucial for understanding the foundation and long-term goals of the project. Others believe that with the emergence of new evaluation indicators such as market trends, project performance, and development teams, the reliance on white papers has decreased, and real-world applications and use cases have become the focus.
The insights gained from these discussions demonstrate a shift in the way the crypto community evaluates projects. Bitget encourages users and professionals to rethink the tools and resources used to evaluate memory blockchain projects today. The event, themed around Bitcoin White Paper Day, showcased the ongoing changes in the industry and invited the community to look to the future and consider evaluating the most promising innovative new methods.
